REVIEW
Its Alive !

This is my album review on one of the most slept on emcees in the game. In the summer of 2001 Tech N9ne dropped what I feel was one of the best Rap albums of the year. For starters there’s the cover with Tech's head screaming with his red braids standing on ends like he was just struck by lightning and a red 9 stamped in his forehead. Then on the inside as you unfold the cover it reveals the rest of Tech's body nailed to a cross with angle wings. Already you can see that you’re in for something really twisted. In comes the intro Hellevator and you are welcomed into Tech N9ne's hellish world. The first track Tormented sets the tone followed by Sinister Tech where Tech gives you a full dosage of his sometimes rapid fast sometimes yelling off the wall flow. On Psycho Bitch he gives you a twisted tale of fatal attraction over a Friday the 13th sample. Tech also confronts his abuse of abortion on Real Killer his trials and tribulations in the rap game on Cursed and confronts Suicide. After all that in the purgatory part of the album Tech wants to party, opening up with the hometown banger "It's Alive" never have I heard Kansas City so well represented with a heart full of pride, but the party don’t stop with four more bangers in line with Einstein, Party Rock 2k, Here I Come, and Who you Came to See. Then fresh off all the liquor, weed and sex of the prior tracks Tech, a married man, confronts his struggles with adultery and makes for perhaps the best song on the album, "This Ring" brings demeaning demons in G-strings/ songs we sing make'em fiend semen and green things/ clinging dreaming thinking of being mrs. Thing, with this ring/. Tech spits on the Icy Roc produced track. After "This Ring" Tech gives you "God Complex" and "This Life" where he invites Grant Rice and Tech's main producer Don Juan each to spit a verse. Then after Going Bad Tech finds enough good to land at least one track in Heaven where he duets with the late great Roger Troutman for "Twisted" done to the beat of "I Wanna be your Man" (Tech N9ne your mind is fine there's just not anyone like you/ the whole wide world don't matter no they can't flow like you/ I must make you understand/
Roger Troutman tells Tech and tech replies /My thoughts are twisted/
Indeed they are but I loved every twisted bit of this album.
