Best of Both Worlds, Good CD, Bad Timing

The Best of Both Worlds has received so much criticism, it's easy to overlook the album when one of the lead artists is considered to be a child molester, however, if you overlook that point, you can really enjoy the album. The first song, the Best Of Both Worlds has a decent beat, but not enough Jay Z, he spits like 4 bars, then let's R Kelly keep repeating "The Best of Both Worlds" When R Kelly get's to his verse, it sounds like a thugged out World's Greatest, then it goes back to Jay Z, and although slightly annoying at times is very solid. Take You Home With Me aka Body has a tight beat, and a tight chorus, Jay Z's verse has a lot goin' for it, then R Kelly get's on and chokes the song a bit recycling Jay Z's lyrics from his I believe first album, it's been a while since I heard that song. The song is tight nonetheless. Break Up to Make Up has a decent beat, and Jay Z up to his old stuff, it's one of R Kelly's best tracks, he actually sounds good with Jay Z, and strays a bit away from the whole thug issue, overall the song is good. It Ain't Personal is sweet natured, and a little deep, I thought Jay Z was talkin' about Memphis Bleek for a second in his verse, since I'm surprised Beanie Sigel's on the album, but Bleek is not, but Jay's not, and the song is a real good one. The real gem of the CD is Streets, this is the overall best track on the album, wit a tight beat, and R Kelly regardless of whether he's lying or not sounds really good. Next, Greenlight which is a good club sound, it sounds a little 70's, R Kelly get's to braggin' and is a little annoying, but Jay Z fixes the track and makes you not mind Mr. Kelly, then Beanie Sigel shows off his skill, and Beanie is awesome on the track, he spits better then Jay on this track. Then the album producers messed up by having Naked be the next song, we go from an upbeat fast song, to one of R Kelly's usual lady ballad's, it's for the chicks, but it ain't bad. Shake Ya Body featuring Lil' Kim, sounds like a loser track, and the beat makes it even sound more like a loser track, but it grows on you, however I found that Jay kept being on the tracks less and less, and I was forced to listen to R Kelly's nonexistent rapping skills, I mean, he ain't the worst, but he just ain't the same, the track is decent, kinda filler material. Somebody's Girl is real good, but I was disappointed with Jigga on this track, he was good, but this track was tailor made for him and Kelly, how could he mess up. The track still is good. Get This Money is the first single, and you can see why, if they were gonna make videos, this would be an awesome video, Jay Z rips his best verse on the album, however, it's a little ironic how after R Kelly says, "then they out by 7 o clock" talking about 2 girls, then Jay Z says what sounds like "Pee on em'" Maybe Golden Showers is the next big thing, I sure hope not. Shorty has an awesome beat, and R Kelly once again almost ruins it, but you can't help but like this song. The next track Honey is real upbeat, and good, finally Jay Z get's some more flow time, and the track is really good. The last track P***** featuring Devin the Dude has good verses from everyone, even R Kelly, but the beats sucks so bad,it makes this track just one you show to your boys the first time, then never listen to it again. Overall, the CD is good, but it ain't sellin' well do to the circumstances with R Kelly and the sex tapes, but if you can look past that, and recognize only the music, the whole CD, even the crappy tracks will grow on you.
